the author

Tori Rego (she/her) is a genre-deviant writer from Charleston, South Carolina. Her work flirts with fairy tale and searches for the erotic in the cerebral. Frequent themes for her include girlhood, (bi)sexuality, ekphrasis, performativity, and friendship. She thinks of her writing as a conch shell, a looking glass, an alchemical practice, a love spell.

She received her MFA from Northern Michigan University, where she also led the fiction editorial team for Passages North and taught writing coursework. She is co-host of the chicago based monthly reading series, written on a napkin. Her writing can be found in Fugue, Miniskirt Magazine, Jellyfish Review, Button Eye Review, and elsewhere. Her first novel, Impression, Storm is currently seeking representation. She is working on a collection of stories about performance artists tentatively titled Variety Show. She is eagerly open to queries for collaboration.

Her first collection of poetry briefly, gently: record of an unreadied boat is available through bottlecap press.
